The Chilliwack General Hospital is in the final stages of a multi million dollar expansion project scheduled for completion in the fall of 2010.

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation - Chilliwack Chapter along with the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District and the Fraser Health Authority have combined forces to complete the much needed addition to local health care services within in the community.

Chilliwack Mayor, Sharon Gaetz commented on the rapid pace local contractors are pulling together to ensure the project is on time and on budget. "Residents and hospital staff are really excited about the Emergency Room project. It is amazing to see the structure going up. It will be a beautiful state-of-the-art facility."

To assist in the massive project, the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation - Chilliwack Chapter has also committed to raising $5 million towards the $35 million project.

The Chilliwack General Hospital Redevelopment Campaign executive committee chaired by Etta Richmond has announced a major fundraising even planned for June 10 and 11 at Heritage Park in Chilliwack.

"We are very pleased to offer the chance to win $25,000 to a lucky Bingo participant in Chilliwack", says Etta Richmond, Chair of the Committee.

"Someone is going to win a lot of money", adds Eldon Unger, another member of the Campaign Executive Committee.
